  • What if tonight was your last night here on this earth? What would you think about, pray about, or do? What would you value? Would you feel satisfied with what you have accomplished in your life? Or, would there be something else that you would want to do before heading home?

     

    When we lay down to sleep some have prayed the prayer, “Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the Lord my soul to keep, if I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take.”

     

    I like the concept of this prayer because it acknowledges the possibility that we might die during the night. Basically, we are not guaranteed another day in this life on earth.


  • I took my wife, Jeanine, out to an area in our yard and stood under a tree where the grass was beautiful. Our yard still had a lot of bare spots, but as we were standing there, I said, “Look at how nice and think this grass is here”. “Now, look at the rest of the pitiful yard, and imagine the whole yard being like this grass is here.


  • I had just successfully started a church. I had strategically planned every detail of the advertising blitz, rented a civic center, found partners to work with, found a pastor with a heart for church planting, and had a successful launch day with around 60 non-believers in attendance.
